Raccoonstruction is now Age of Raccoons

The raccoon colony game started as a small prototype called Raccoonstruction. It has grown past a prototype, so it gets a proper name: Age of Raccoons. This site is its new home, and a Steam page is on the way.

What it is

Three raccoons survive a shipwreck and wash up on a blocky island. You don’t steer them. You mark what needs doing, a tree to fell, a rock to break, a patch of ground to level, and the nearest free raccoon takes the job.

A raccoon carries a log from the pile.

What already works

  • Orders. Marking trees and rocks, digging, heaping and levelling the ground, sending a raccoon to look somewhere.
  • The colony. The pile the survivors start with, storehouses, and carrying every piece home one trip at a time.
  • Buildings. The campfire that founds the colony, the storehouse, the sawmill, the workshop with its recipes and orders, beds and graves, all raised swing by swing.
  • Survival. Hunger, thirst and fatigue, days and nights, collapse, death and burial.
  • The island. Fog that clears where the raccoons go, a minimap, and birds to hunt.

The campfire, the first building of the colony.

What’s next

More buildings, more tools, and a reason to look past the next tree. News will land here first. If you like what you see, wishlisting the game is the best way to help it.
